Meet the Team

Kerry Tucker

President

Kerry Tucker is the President at SunCoast Protective Services. He brings more than 34 years of experience in the law enforcement and the security industries. Mr. Tucker’s prior law enforcement experience specialized in Targeted Narcotic Investigations, Economic Crimes, Sex Crimes, Child Abuse and Major Crimes.

During his tenure in the private sector, Kerry Tucker spent more than 21 years employed in his own successful investigative and security firm in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Here, Mr. Tucker supervised all operations and provided support and consultations for a number of professional organizations. He also has spent more than 15 years as a Sr. VP of Human Resources, Legal Compliance and Ethics for a national cable contracting company, overseeing the executive operation of all internal and external security for locations in over 40 locations nationwide.

Mr. Tucker holds an MBA in Human Resources Management, a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice and studied graduate courses in Forensic Science at George Washington University while assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC, where he was a Physical Science Technician in the Firearms-Toolmarks Unit.

Kerry is certified in more than a dozen security-related programs and a member of 10 organizations within the security industry.

Throughout his long and successful career, Kerry Tucker has developed a unique kind of wisdom and maturity. Although as an investigator he has to be assertive, tough, relentless and persistent, Kerry Tucker is compassionate, concerning and sensitive. He has an exceptional ability to work under high pressure and maintains an exemplary presentation in public.

During his long career, his distinctive management skills motivated and led people to action. A competitive person, he strives to complete a mission through collaboration and teamwork. Along with his positive mindset and strong analytical skills, Kerry Tucker is patient, trustworthy and reliable.

Peter Berkowitz

Director of Sales and Operations

Peter is the Director of Sales and Operations at SPS. He brings more than three decades of experience managing large and small-scale business operations involving personnel, material and machinery. He has a proven track record as a successful account manager, HR leader, customer satisfaction specialist, and is able to liaise with both clients and partners to develop creative solutions at all levels. Peter’s skillset also extends to financial management and labor relations. He learned to efficiently manage hiring, transfer, payroll, benefits, employee protocols and operations improvements. His ability to create a dynamic and effective working environment helps his team to deliver results far above the industry standard.

He spent many years as an operations manager at major telecommunications companies such as AT&T, RCH, CI, TKR and Group W. While there he earned numerous awards for his systems operations accomplishments.

Peter earned his B.A. in Economics at the University of Southern Maine. When he isn’t assisting companies and helping people function to their maximum potential, you will most likely find him playing racquetball, woodworking or learning how to play golf.

Debra Veritas

Director of Human Resources

Debra brings her 7 years of experience of Human Resources leadership from RCH, a national leading cable contracting company.

At SPS, Debra guides and manages the overall operation of services, polices and programs. Major areas managed on a daily basis include:
